Adrian College and Siena Heights University played three different games on Tuesday, with the men's and women's basketball teams competing in the Siena Heights University Gymnasium and the women's wrestling team competing in the Merrilat Sports and Fitness Center.

Women's Wrestling.

The women's wrestling dual meet went extremely close, with both teams going back and forth before the host Siena Heights Saints came out on top in the final match, winning by a score of 22-19.

Siena Heights got off to a strong start with Bo Geibe's technical fall in the 191-pound match. However, Adrian College's Alexis Hart-Butcher won at 101 pounds to give the Bulldogs a 5-4 lead.

The Saints regained the lead with a decision by Valeria Ahumada (109 pounds) and a pin by Mia Hotchkiss (116 pounds), but Adrian took the lead with a technical fall by Sophia Renteria (123 pounds) and a pin by Angela LoRusso ( Angela LoRusso) pin to regain the lead. Angela LoRusso (130 lbs.) bounced back to tie the match at 14-12, giving the Bulldogs the win.

In the finals, Siena Heights sealed the win on a pin by Adrian High School graduate Kayley Rada (170).

Boys Basketball

In men's basketball, the Siena Heights Saints defeated the Adrian College Bulldogs, 72-40, to reclaim the milk can for the first time since 2021.

The Saints (2-2) controlled the game from start to finish and led 31-13 at halftime. Siena Heights' Jonny Powers had 18 points, eight rebounds and two caps, while Delano Williams had 12 points, seven rebounds, two caps, two steals and an assist.

Adrian's Braylon Dickerson had nine points, five rebounds, one cap and one steal.

Girls Basketball.

The Siena Heights Saints completed a three-game winning streak with a 60-40 victory over the Adrian College Bulldogs.

The Saints (3-2) outscored the Bulldogs (3-2) 30-19 in the second and third quarters. Siena Heights' E'Anna Won had nine points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists, while Jakarri Alven had nine points, two rebounds and two assists.

Jillian Gelso contributed eight points for the Saints, while Eva Alcock (Tecumseh) and Cam Tripp each scored seven points. Kayla Hinton and Olivia DeLong each scored six points for Siena Heights.

OVERVIEW

The rivalry between Adrian College and Siena Heights is one of the fiercest in the region, and Tuesday's games lived up to the hype. The Saints won all three matches, but the Bulldogs fought hard and performed well.
